Terakoya Sports Day

We held the 3rd TERAKOYA Sports Day on 9th November. Since one of the athletes fromUganda won a gold medal in the marathon at the 2012 London Olympics, we decided to name “the Terakoya Olympics” for this year’s theme. All 56 pupils participated in the Sports Day. They were divided into 4 different groups named after a country. They played 6 different games, and their guardians also participated in 3 games. The children very much enjoyed every program, and I am very happy to have found that even the guardians enjoyed the day. The tug of war was especially very exciting.

Attendance of the guardians was really good this year. Some of them told us, ”My child was very much enjoying all the program, which made me very happy.” I believe many of the guardians were able to observe the growth of their children throughout the day. I am now eager to organize some more events like this sports day.
