Education For the Future

3 months report from the 9th group of Japanese student volunteers (4)

I know in my mind that foreigners are the same human beings, but I always felt that there is a barrier against them. I then became friends with Ali in Uganda. I have started my home-stay at his house, and we spend a lot of time together. Tough my English is very poor, we have gotten to know each other very well. With this experience of the home-stay, I realized that a barrier lies not because of a language difference but because of my attitude of not trying to understand others. Becoming friends with Ali has given me confidence that I can be friends with anyone from any country.
